You will be met at Piraeus or Lavrion port to begin your tour. Take a scenic drive along the Saronic Gulf to Cape Sounion, passing the walls of Themistocles and the summer resort of Varkiza on the way.
At Cape Sounion, visit the 5th-century BCE Temple of Poseidon, an impressive temple commanding the highest point of the headland, 197 feet above the sea. Enjoy magnificent views of the blue Aegean and the distant islands. Many cruise ships passing Cape Sounion today still pay their respects to Poseidon by lowering the ensign or blasting the ship’s horn.
Return to Athens and the heart of the city, Syntagma (Constitution) Square.
At the top of the square stands the Parliament Building, formerly the royal palace, where guards in their traditional costumes keep watch over the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. |

Drive past the Panathenaic Stadium and the National Gardens. Travel along University Street with its impressive neo-classical buildings.
Continue to the Acropolis, or “High City,” a true testament to the Golden Age of Greece, that magical period at the height of Pericles’ influence (461- 429 BCE), when the intellectual and artistic life of Athens flowered. Seeing the ruins of the Parthenon, one of the archetypal images of western culture, is a revelation, yet utterly familiar. The modern path makes a zigzagging ascent through the Beule Gate to legendary attractions such as the Propylaia, Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon.
After your Acropolis tour, you will be transferred to Piraeus or Lavrion port to join your cruise ship.

Travel Tips
Greece has a warm Mediterranean climate. In summer, dry hot days are often relieved by stiff breezes known as Meltemia, especially in the north and coastal areas. In the summer, Athens can be stiflingly hot, so visitors should allow time to acclimatize. The evenings are cool. Winters are mild in the south but much colder in the north. November to March is the rainy season.
The best time to visit is mid-May to mid-June and mid-September to the end of October.
Late June to September is hot, with low temperatures in the 70’s and highs in the 90’s. Winter months are generally fine for touring, but usually too cold to swim or lie on the beach. Average winter temperatures are a low of 44 and a high of 60. Greece has fairly little rain year-round.
A valid passport is required for entry into Greece. A visa must be obtained from the Greek Consulate if you intend to stay for longer than 3 months. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival into Greece.
Yellow fever certificate is required if you are arriving from an infected area.

Cool, loose cotton clothing is recommended for most of the year. In the winter a light coat and sweat shirt is advisable. Sun hat, sunglasses and plenty of fluids help to cope with the heat.
As a member of the EU, Greece’s currency is the Euro. Money can be exchanged at banks and hotels as well as money changers and ATM’s.
The electric current is 220 volts AC. The wall plugs are the round, two pronged European type; bring an adapter if necessary.

TERMS
• A deposit of $500 per person, per country
booked is required
upon booking the tour.
• Final payment is due sixty days prior to departure.
• If booking within 21 days of travel, an additional
fee of $75 per person will apply.
• A change fee of $50 per person will apply to any
changes made by the traveler after confirmation
has been sent.
Transportation, lodging, meals, entertainment
and other services are sold on a partially refundable
basis depending upon the date, in relation
to the departure date, such services are cancelled.
The cancellation fees and calculations are set
forth below:
• 61 days or more prior to departure, a service fee of
$100 per person, per country will apply.
• If a tour is cancelled 60 days or less from departure
date and full payment has not been received in our
office, the deposit will then be forfeited in full.
• Once full payment has been received, any refund
made will be subject to a $75 per person administration
fee.
• 59 to 30 days prior to departure, a cancellation
fee of 50% of the tour cost will apply.
• 29 to 15 days prior to departure, a cancellation
fee of 75% of the tour cost will apply.
• 14 days or less prior to departure, a cancellation
fee of 100% of the tour cost will apply.
• No refund will apply to any unused services including
but not limited to flights, accommodations,
touring, meals and/or transportation.
