| You will be met at the port by your private guide to begin your tour of Salalah, known as the “perfume capital of Arabia” and the largest city in the Dhofar region.
Visit the Al Baleed archaeological park, a UNESCO world heritage site. Al Baleed was an important trading port for frankincense and myrrh between the 7th and 14th centuries. Spend some time exploring the Museum of the Land of Frankincense, within the park.*
Drive through lush plantations and stop to sample some fresh local produce along the way.

Visit the impressive Sultan Qaboos Mosque (open to non-Muslims Saturday-Thursday, 8am-11am).
Pass the royal palace on the way to Haffah souk, a traditional market where you will have time to browse for frankincense and other Omani souvenirs.
Then you will be transferred back to the port to rejoin your cruise.
*Museums are closed on Fridays and Saturdays.

Travel Tips
The temperature varies in the different regions. Overall, the average October – March is 20º C - 30º C and April - September 31º C - 45º C. The Dhofar region (Salalah) has a subtropical climate between October - May with average temperatures of 30º C. But from June to September this region is exposed to the southeast monsoon that results in a lush green climate with temperatures around 23º C. Oman has 360 days of sun per year.
A valid passport is required for entry into Oman. Tourist visas can be obtained upon arrival.

Oman is a Muslim country thus it is important to observe a certain dress code. In public places, women should wear garments that cover their upper arms and legs. They should not appear in public dressed in shorts, tight trousers, bare-backed or low-cut dresses. Men should wear long trousers and shirts. Shorts and sun tops should only be worn at the beach or by the pool.
When visiting the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque please ensure that you do not wear any sheer fabrics, transparent or tight clothes or white trousers. All trousers have to be long and sleeves should reach to the wrists. Women are required to wear a head scarf and cover their décolleté.
When swimming in public places such as beaches and wadis, please wear T-shirt and shorts; this applies for women and men.
We recommend that you wear loose comfortable clothing as it will be warm. Comfortable foot wear for walking is advisable. Desert visitors should have caps, sunscreen (sunscreen is recommended all over the countries as well especially in the hot weather).
The local currency is the Omani Rial (OMR) and there are 1000 Baizas (Bz) to 1 OMR. Omani Rials can be bought at major airports or upon arrival at Muscat International Airport. There are ATMs throughout the Omani cities. Credit cards are readily accepted.

TERMS
• A deposit of $500 per person, per country
booked is required
upon booking the tour.
• Final payment is due sixty days prior to departure.
• If booking within 21 days of travel, an additional
fee of $75 per person will apply.
• A change fee of $50 per person will apply to any
changes made by the traveler after confirmation
has been sent.
Transportation, lodging, meals, entertainment
and other services are sold on a partially refundable
basis depending upon the date, in relation
to the departure date, such services are cancelled.
The cancellation fees and calculations are set
forth below:
• 61 days or more prior to departure, a service fee of
$100 per person, per country will apply.
• If a tour is cancelled 60 days or less from departure
date and full payment has not been received in our
office, the deposit will then be forfeited in full.
• Once full payment has been received, any refund
made will be subject to a $75 per person administration
fee.
• 59 to 30 days prior to departure, a cancellation
fee of 50% of the tour cost will apply.
• 29 to 15 days prior to departure, a cancellation
fee of 75% of the tour cost will apply.
• 14 days or less prior to departure, a cancellation
fee of 100% of the tour cost will apply.
• No refund will apply to any unused services including
but not limited to flights, accommodations,
touring, meals and/or transportation.
