Your guide will pick you up for a 6-hour private Patmos tour. Visit the Monastery of St. John and the Apocalypse Cave. Take a scenic drive to the charming, traditional village of Lambi.

This private Patmos tour is guaranteed to operate with a minimum of 2 passengers.

You will be met at the port to start your tour.

Drive to the village of Chora, where the Monastery of St. John is built within the walls of a strong fortification. As you walk uphill towards the entrance of the monastery, marvel at this magnificent structure which was built 900 years ago, exceptional in its architecture. View the courtyard, the monks’ dining room and the old bakery before entering the main church, with outstanding frescoes and interior decoration.

Next, see the priceless ecclesiastical treasures housed in the beautiful, small museum: books and manuscripts, mosaics, icons, splendid medieval textiles and vestments, as well as jewelry.

Return to your touring vehicle and continue to the nearby Grotto of the Apocalypse, above which stands the Church the Apocalypse, part of the main monastery. Walk down the steps to see the grotto, where silver niches in the wall mark the pillow and ledge used as a desk by the author of the Book of Revelation, as well as the three-fold crack made by the voice of God emphasizing the honor of the Trinity.

Drive on to Kambo village and stop for a drink.

Continue to the traditional village of Lambi.

As we proceed from place to place on the island, we’ll pass many beautiful inlets and tranquil beaches.

At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to the port to rejoin your cruise.

Travel Tips

Climate
Greece has a warm Mediterranean climate. In summer, dry hot days are often relieved by stiff breezes known as Meltemia, especially in the north and coastal areas. In the summer, Athens can be stiflingly hot, so visitors should allow time to acclimatize. The evenings are cool. Winters are mild in the south but much colder in the north. November to March is the rainy season.

The best time to visit is mid-May to mid-June and mid-September to the end of October.

Late June to September is hot, with low temperatures in the 70’s and highs in the 90’s. Winter months are generally fine for touring, but usually too cold to swim or lie on the beach. Average winter temperatures are a low of 44 and a high of 60. Greece has fairly little rain year-round.

Documentation
A valid passport is required for entry into Greece. A visa must be obtained from the Greek Consulate if you intend to stay for longer than 3 months. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival into Greece.

Shots
Yellow fever certificate is required if you are arriving from an infected area.

Dress
Cool, loose cotton clothing is recommended for most of the year. In the winter a light coat and sweat shirt is advisable. Sun hat, sunglasses and plenty of fluids help to cope with the heat.

Currency
As a member of the EU, Greece’s currency is the Euro. Money can be exchanged at banks and hotels as well as money changers and ATM’s.

Electricity
The electric current is 220 volts AC. The wall plugs are the round, two pronged European type; bring an adapter if necessary.

Deposit and Payment Policy:
• A deposit of $500 per person, per country booked is required
upon booking the tour.
• Final payment is due sixty days prior to departure.
• If booking within 21 days of travel, an additional fee of $75 per person will apply.
• A change fee of $50 per person will apply to any changes made by the traveler after confirmation has been sent.

Cancellations & Refunds:
Transportation, lodging, meals, entertainment and other services are sold on a partially refundable basis depending upon the date, in relation
to the departure date, such services are cancelled. The cancellation fees and calculations are set forth below:

• 61 days or more prior to departure, a service fee of $100 per person, per country will apply.
• If a tour is cancelled 60 days or less from departure date and full payment has not been received in our office, the deposit will then be forfeited in full.
• Once full payment has been received, any refund made will be subject to a $75 per person administration fee.
• 59 to 30 days prior to departure, a cancellation fee of 50% of the tour cost will apply.
• 29 to 15 days prior to departure, a cancellation fee of 75% of the tour cost will apply.
• 14 days or less prior to departure, a cancellation fee of 100% of the tour cost will apply.
• No refund will apply to any unused services including but not limited to flights, accommodations, touring, meals and/or transportation.
